Who We Are

John H. Bauer, Esq., Your Southern California Attorney, For Chapter 11, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, And Surplus Cash Recovery if You Have Experienced a Foreclosure.

“My name is John Bauer and I am a California Licensed Attorney who focuses on Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, and Recovery of Surplus Funds for Foreclosure Victims. I am Certified by the Federal Bankruptcy Court to represent clients in the Central and Southern Districts of California which covers the area of Santa Barbara to the North all the way to San Diego in the South.”

I am the President of Financial Relief Legal Advocates, Inc., a California Law Corporation. I have successfully confirmed multiple Chapter 11 cases, therefore saving my clients literally millions of dollars, allowing them to keep their homes and rental properties, keep their businesses, and retain their employees. In addition, I have also assisted corporate and individual clients through Chapter 7 to eliminate their burdensome debt and welcome a “fresh start.” In other words, I have helped clients involving multi-million dollar businesses to clients trying to get rid of simple credit card debt and medical bills. It has been my great pleasure to assist all of these clients!

Also, suffering a foreclosure is a terrible experience, but many people don’t realize that California law allows them to recover cash funds over and above the amount used to pay off the foreclosing lender! For example, if a lender forecloses on a $300,000. loan secured on a property which sells at the foreclosure sale for $400,000., the prior owner is entitled to receive that $100,000. in net proceeds! I now assist victims of foreclosure who are entitled to these excess funds to recover those funds from the foreclosure trustee so they can start over! I am very pleased to help people recover money, sometimes quite a bit of money, from an otherwise terrible situation. The simple fact is that most people don’t know that they have the right under California law to recover their excess money following the foreclosure of their property…

I use my extensive real estate experience to help my clients with their debt and bankruptcy issues. From 1995 through 2007, I was a very active real estate investor and, as a result, learned about the purchase and sale processes of properties in a number of states. In fact, during this time, I became a licensed real estate broker in California, Arizona, and Florida. I also became a Certified Real Estate Broker with the Federal Dept. of Housing & Urban Development in the State of California. As a result, I became very knowledgeable in the areas of escrow, title, and appraisal and valuation of properties and businesses. This experience has been of great help in the practice of Chapter 11 reorganization, Chapter 7 liquidation, and recovery of property surplus funds following foreclosure. I look forward to working with you.

How Chapter 11 Can Save Your Financial Life

I have met with so many clients and seen so very many different types of situations, but a common component in virtually all of them is that there is some judgment, some expensive property, or some expensive equipment which makes the monthly budget very difficult to satisfy and very difficult to maintain on a positive […]

The Consequences of a Chapter 7 vs. Chapter 11 Case

First, a Chapter 7 Debtor has no minimum financial limits to file a case. The debt or debts can be minimal and there is no upward cap either. It is possible of course to incur millions of dollars of debt, both secured and unsecured. You can get rid of all of this debt with the […]
